Welcome to our journey of adoption !

Our names are Elizabeth and Peyton Bullen. We live in Smyrna, TN (suburb of Nashville) and serve and worship at LifePoint Church. In February 2011 while on a mission in Haiti, we met a 3 year old orphaned boy who had been temporarily living with a missionary family while a new children’s home was being established.  A short time later we started the process of adopting him and bringing him home to Tennessee. It has been a long and grueling 4 years so far. Thank you for your support!

About Mathieu: Our new son’s name is Mathieu Gabriel.  He is a sweet and affectionate little boy with a heart as big as they come.  He loves caring for and protecting babies!  His mother died while he was still young, and his father was unable to care for him. Mathieu was entrusted with a family member who physically abused him.  Mathieu moved a few times and then permanently moved to the Chadasha Foundation children’s home where he now lives with 10 other children.

About Peyton: I grew up in a small town, Wetumpka, Alabama. I’m the Director Fire Prevention Programs and Policy for the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office. I work with the State of Tennessee to reduce life and property loss due to fire. I enjoy helping people and giving back to my community. I also serve in the small group and discipleship ministries at LifePoint Church.

About Elizabeth: I am the Director of Marketing and Team Services at Environmental 360.  I market our environmental consulting services and help our team members in whatever way necessary. I have always had a passion for the Colorguard in the marching band since I participated in high school and at Auburn University. I am honored to be able to be the Colorguard Instructor at Stewarts Creek High School here in Smyrna. I enjoy teaching the girls Colorguard but also about how to be confident, respectable young women. I am very involved with our church, LifePoint where I lead a group of high school girls on Wednesday nights and an adult small group with Peyton.

  2. Elizabeth & Peyton — just wanted to let you know you and Junior were included in a video we showed at church tonight. Greg Roberts was home and telling the church some of the stories — and your little boy’s is a HUGE one! The video we put together is on our Facebook page: http://facebook.com/churchofthecove.

I also have information for you regarding getting mail and packages to Haiti. Agape Flights provides that service (Greg & Michelle aren’t on the program yet, but Pastor Jude IS as are others.) http://agapeflights.com/send-a-packageletter.html (127 missionaries based from PaP airport! http://agapeflights.com/meet-the-people/find-a-missionary/Airports/Port-Au-Prince.html)

  3. Visited your booth at the Nashville Music City Marathon. Still wearing your bracelet and praying for ya’ll! So excited for you!

  4. Greetings, I had the opportunity of meeting Peyton while at the Country Music Marathon in Nashville last weekend. I didn’t get a chance to chat but Peyton had run out of cards but gave me a label with the information to your site. I had been driving around for two days with it stuck to my cell phone (which is where I placed it so it wouldn’t get lost.) and then transferred it to my cup holder in my car and kept saying “Just log on”. I’m busy most days and too tired to log on after my work days ends.

Well I’m finally here and I must say you all are doing awesome work in your endeavor to get Junior over here. God is truly awesome and you are walking out the scripture in Matt 18:5. I didn’t have an opprotunity to purchase any of your items at the booth but will make a donation today.

May God Bless You and Keep you.

  6. My family and I are wanting to start adoption from Haitiafter much prayer and listening to the Lords will for us. Would love to talk to you about the path y’all took because we are 26 and have had 3 years of marriage. Thanks for your help!

  7. Oh my goodness. Stumbled upon your blog and became obsessed with reading the entire thing in one sitting. 🙂 I traveled to Haiti for a mission trip in October and also felt God placed a very special little girl in my path for the purpose of adoption. I couldn’t find an email address for you here but I would love to speak more about your journey. I’m also going back to Haiti at Christmas, so if I can be of any help with taking things, let me know. 🙂
